To use this unit you will need V11 (SV14) Battery and Charger. Note if you are upgrading from the V10 then you can use your old charger. The V10/V11 share the same charger.
However the wall dock is different as the V11 has a larger battery than the V10. This is the most cost effective way to upgrade your old Dyson Stick Vacuum. The SV14 V11 is an excellent stick vacuum, it can clean even a large house on a single charge on medium setting. On medium power you have over 30 minutes use even with a powered carpet head attached.
It has the ability to work in'Auto' / Surface Sensing mode, if you get the correct carpet head. However i did not get on with it personally, i prefer to use the normal powered carpet / hard surface heads as you then get to choose yourself high/medium/low.
The surfacing sensing head personally i found very annoying as it keeps changing the vacuum power as you cross a different surface. If you have a previous model V7 / V8 / V10, you can use all of the powered attachments and stick/pole with this new V11 unit. This means you do not have the unnecessary cost to repurchase all of these items.
NOTE: You can use V6 parts with this however you need an adaptor and you cannot use any of your powered V6 items, so rather than mess about its better to just sell all of your V6 items to offset the cost of the upgrade to this V11 unit. It was a huge step forward from the older V8 design, still today an excellent choice. Similar to the V11 but with a smaller battery capacity and suction.
An excellent choice on a tight budget. This is the first Generation V11 with a screw in battery type. Capable of cleaning even a large house on one charge on. It features Larger dust bin/filter/clip in battery.
It has a soft grip to make it more comfy to hold for long periods. It also uses a wider carpet head. If your budget allows to get the latest version however it makes sense as it has a large bin capacity which means less emptying. Wider carpet head ability means you can clean more surface area compared to previous models. It might not suit everyone, but in larger spaces it might very well make sense to cut down cleaning time.
This unit has a different LCD / computer to work with the Detect laser floor cleaning heads which allow you to see dirt which you have not picked up. Which ever you choose we are here to support you with your decision and the V11 is an excellent machine, it is really the way to go.
